Churchill Labour Councillors have been lobbying Westminster City Council over residents’ concerns on parking on Churchill Gardens Estate.

Labour Action Team member Andrea Mann said: “Parking is one of the top issues on the estate, whether it’s getting a parking permit or Churchill Gardens Road being too congested from parking on both sides of the road.

Cllr Jason Williams said: “We were told by CityWest Homes that they would get a traffic management order for the estate – but that this could take until March 2018 to arrange.

“Congestion on Churchill Gardens Road is also raising safety concerns – as emergency vehicle access to the estate might be impeded by the roads being blocked, often by vehicles without permits.”

Churchill Labour Councillors have established that Churchill Gardens Road is a public road owned by Westminster City Council, so have asked the Council’s Head of Parking to begin enforcement patrols on the road immediately.

A recent walk by Churchill Labour Councillors also revealed a number of vehicles parked without permits and some with out of date permits displayed.

Cllr Williams said: “We want to hear from residents about their experience of parking on the estate and we will continue to lobby the Council on this issue.”
